Herbert Zinyama is a 32 year husband and father of 7 month old baby. He relocated to South Africa from Zimbabwe in 2008 as his homeland was crippled by poverty and lack of employment. It was not the grass is greener on the other side for him in South Africa though and he found himself alone in a country living on the streets with no food.
He decided to make a plan to survive and started selling portable shoe racks and sun hats to passengers at robots. He managed to save some money from the little business he started and used it to pay his way through Unisa studies completing a Bachelor of Communication Science Degree majoring in media studies. Currently he is doing his honors in English Language 1.
In 2014 he was able to get his first professional job working as a communications officer. The company went into financial difficulties and Herbert found himself unemployed yet again. It was a struggle and after allot of prayer by his church members he was connected to Careerlinx, who submitted his cv to Labora Shoes for a lecturer position. The Sunday the church prayed for him and by the next week Monday He had started the job. “I thank God for answering our prayers and that He used Careerlinx to help me, says Herbert.
