Faith restored says Nomqhenyo Ndlela (Q)…

QI am a young lady from Kwadabeka, Clermont. I was born and raised in Durban. I matriculated in 2006 at Kloof High School. After matric I did a lot of administrative work and I am currently a Unisa student pursuing my Bachelor of Commerce degree.

In 2012 I started working a project manager for an NGO where I was involved in community development projects from early childhood to entrepreneurship development. During my time as a project manager I saw the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots.” It gave me great joy knowing that I was making a difference in people’s life.

In October 2014 I lost my job and I was feeling very discouraged as I was applying everyday but there was no favorable response for a year and four months. It was a very difficult time in my life as I have two children to take care of but my family was very supportive during this time.

Q with booksThrough Careerlinx I was able to find employment, in February 2016, as an administrator for the online store at Books 2 You. I am responsible for most administrative duties including invoicing and social media marketing. I am very happy to be in an environment that promotes the culture of learning.

I will forever be grateful to Careerlinx for restoring my faith and helping me to believe in myself again. Unemployment is a big problem in this country so it is encouraging knowing that there is an organisation dedicated to combating this social and economic debacle.
